JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Thirty-five Daesh rebels and 22 Taliban militantshave been killed during Afghan and US airstrikes in the Achin district of eastern Nangarhar province, officials said on Thursday.

Sherin Aqa Faqiri, spokesman for the 201 Selab Military Corps, told Pajhwok Afghan News 35 Daesh rebels were killed 18 wounded in overnightstrikes in Bandar locality. A huge cache of weapons was also destroyed.

Separately, Attaullah Khogyani, the governor’s spokesman, said 15 Taliban were killed in a US drone raid in another remote area of the district.Seven more Taliban were killed in a clash with security forces in Khogyani district.

Neither Daesh nor Taliban commented yet on the incidents, which were confirmed by resident Naveed Shinwari. However, he did not have specific casualty figures.
