FEROZKOH (Pajhwok): As many as 6,131 women province, an official said on Monday.
These women participated in 252 different courses of literacy and capacity building in Dawlatyar, Tiwara districts and Ferozkoh, the provincial capital.
The women completing the courses have urged other families to send their daughters and mothers to join the courses in order to improve their skills.
Ghulam Rabbani Hadafmand, the education director, said over 6,000 women had been distributed certificates upon course completion. They learnt reading, writing and counting, he said.
He said another 3,600 men and women were currently being engaged in 144 ed literacy courses in 10 different areas and they would also graduate soon.
Najibah, a teacher, said women, who attended the nine-month course, were now able to read, write and count. She said they were capable to teach their children and bring them up in an educated environment.
Sahar, one of the students, said: “I knew nothing in the past, but after the nine month training, I learned how to write, read and count. In addition, I learned some religious issues and can recite the holy Quran as well.”
