JALALABAD (Pajhwok): At least 10 Taliban insurgents have been killed and five others wounded during clashes in different areas of eastern Nangarhar province, an official said on Wednesday.
Attaullah Khogyani, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News four militants were killed and five others wounded during the clashes between security forces and Taliban in Gadal area of Pachiragam district late on Tuesday.
The firefights happened when the militants wanted to attack security posts, he said.
Separately, six insurgents were killed during a clash in Hisarak district of Nangarhar. Civilians and security forces suffered no casualties, he said.
Taliban did not comment about the incidents so far. However, the group’s spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid, claimed five Afghan Local Police (ALP) members suffered casualties during an attack in Surkh Rod district.
