KABUL.

“Enough evidence has been provided to Pakistan. The evidence shows the Wednesday’s terrorist attack on the semi-government university was planned on Pakistan’s soil,” said Syed Zafar Hashami, the presidential spokesman.

Hashimi demanded of the Pakistani authorities to take satisfactory action against elements involved in the attack.

Soon after the attack, the National Security Council (NSC) held an emergency meeting and discussed the security situation in the aftermath of the university attack.

According to an earlier statement from the Presidential Palace, documents collected by the National Directorate of Security (NDS) showed that the attack on the American University was planned and organised from the other side of the Durand Line. More investigation was underway, the statement had said.

One teacher, seven students, two university security guards and three Afghan security personnel were killed and 36 students and university staff and nine security personnel were injured in the assault.

President Ashraf Ghani, who presided over the NSC meeting on Wednesday, spoke over the phone to Pakistan Army Chief Gen. Raheel Sharif and demanded serious and practical measures against the perpetrators of the attack.

Gen. Raheel has promised to evaluate the issue and inform Afghanistan about the measures taken.
