SHIBERGHAN (Pajhwok): Two children and a young man drowned in the Amu River in Qarqin district of northern Jawzjan province, an official said on Sunday.
The Jawzjan governor’s spokesman, Mohammad Reza Ghafori, told Pajhwok Afghan News the three fell into the river when a wall of their house on the river’s beach collapsed.
The children and the man were trying to take out windows and doors of their house after being damaged by waves of the river.
Ghafori said around 200 houses had been destroyed by waves of the Amu River . . .
