HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): One person was killed and 153 others injured in traffic accidents during Eid holidays in western Herat province, officials said Thursday.
Herat Zonal Hospital Spokesman, Mohammad Shafiq Sherzai, told Pajhwok Afghan News people of different ages and from different areas were among the wounded persons.
He said most of the injured were teenagers and youths. The accidents caused due to speedy driving and carelessness.
Twenty five percent more people were wounded this Eid compared to the injured recorded in Eid-ul-Fitar, he said.
