KABUL (Pajhwok): A policeman and two armed motorcyclists have been killed during a clash in the fifth police district of the capital Kabul, an official said Thursday.

Brig. Gen. Abdur Rahman Rahimi, commander of the 101st Kabul Asmayee Police Zone said that the incident took place near Charahi Qambar Square on Wednesday night.

A video clip from Kabul police headquarter received by Pajhwok Afghan News, shows two persons with white cloths killed and laid on the road.

Rahimi said that two pistols and a silent gun were also seized from the armed men. The men planned to commit terrorist attacks in the area, he said.

Police had received a tip-off about the armed men and they had got preparation for arresting them, but the men when faced police opened fire and left one policeman dead, he said.

Rahimi added the attackers were also killed in other policemen’s retaliatory response.

He ordered police forces to kill illegal armed men including militants, robbers and kidnappers if they ignored police warnings.

About a year ago, a Wolesi Jirga member, Sher Wali Wardak was also killed in a landmine in Charahi Qambar area.

Two years ago, a former lawmaker, Abdul Jabbar Shelgerai survived an armed attack in the same area.
