TIRINKOT/SHIBERGHAN (Pajhwok): Hundreds of war-affected families on Sunday received food and non-food items in assistance in Uruzgan and Jawzjan provinces, officials said.
Natural Disaster Management Authority head for Uruzgan Asmatullah Faiz told Pajhwok Afghan News thousands of families had been displaced by recent clashes in the provincial capital, Tirinkot, and districts.
He said a large number of families had migrated to safe areas in the provincial capital from districts. These families were provided with assistance today, he said.
