KABUL Super League (PSL), a T20 event including top-class payers, will feature two senior Afghan cricketers.

Faced with a fragile security situation, Pakistan will stage the 2017 final of the Twenty20 franchise league in Lahore,with teams flying in and out for the showpiece event.

More than 410 players were placed in the draft for the PSLin the United Arab Emirates on Wednesday night, a list that included Mohammad Nabi Isakhel and Shahzad Mohammadi.

Isakhel has signed for the Quetta team for a second year while Mohammadi will play for Peshawar. Last year. Isakhel was the only Afghan taking part in the event.

Peshawar Zalmay skipper Javed Afridi has promised giving more Afghans the chance to represent his side in the future. Many Afghan cricketers were born and bred in Peshawar. .

Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) spokesman Farid Hotak, meanwhile, hailed the pair’s selection for PSL as a big achievement. The opportunity will add to their experience and exposure.

He told Pajhwok Afghan News the national players had previously taken part in the Bangladesh Premier League. India has also assured Afghan cricketers of a chance to participate IPL.

Pakistan will stage the 2017 final of their Twenty20 franchise league in Lahore but teams will fly in and fly out for the showpiece event in a sobering nod to the delicate security situation in the country.

Former New Zealand captain Brendon McCullum, West Indian stars Chris Gayle and Dwayne Bravo, Australia’s Shane Watson, Bangladesh’s Shakib Al Hasan and England’s Eoin Morgan have also signed up for PSL.
