KABUL (Pajhwok): The National Procurement Commission (NPC) has approved six more contracts worth 370 million afghanis, the Presidential Palace said on Sunday.
A statement from the Presidential Palace said the contracts were signed during a meeting chaired by President Ashraf Ghani on Saturday.
The contracts approved were for construction of an information technology center in Faryab University, graveling of a road between Janikhel district of Paktia to Surki Kutal area of the province and reconstruction of the road between Zaranj, the capital of Nimroz province, and Kang district.
The NPC also amended the contract for construction of a 44-kilometer road connecting Faizabad, the capital of Badakhshan with Baharak district due to its high cost.
The meeting also extended timescale for consultative services of road construction process and for maintenance of building construction of environment protection center of Badakhshan.
However, the commission rejected contracts for providing equipment and cloths to hostels of the Ministry of Interior, registration of non-custom paid vehicles and a suggestion in the contract for maintenance of Hamid Karzai International Airport.
The NPC appointed the president’s advisor on infrastructural affairs to assess performance of project management offices (PMOs) in projects financed by the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
