HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): Fourteen people, half of them women, committed suicide during the past nine months, registering a 50 percent increase, Zonal Hospital officials in western Herat province said on Thursday.
Herat Zonal Hospital spokesman Mohammad Rafiq Sherzai told Pajhwok Afghan News the 14 people had hanged themselves to death in Herat in the past nine months of the current year compared to last year’s seven of such cases in 10 months.
He said statistics showed 50 percent increase in suicide cases compared to last year . . .
