MAZAR-I-SHARIF (Pajhwok): Illegal gunmen escorting lawmakers create problems and a sense of insecurity in northern Balkh province, an official says.
Balkh police chief Brig. Gen. Syed Kamal Sadat told Pajhwok Afghan News expressed his concern over the security situation in Mazar-i-Sharif, the provincial capital.
He said some lawmakers had hired illegal gunmen for their security and the gunmen roamed freely in the city, creating panic among local residents.
