SAR-I-PUL (Pajhwok): An inmate in the central jail of northern Sar-i-Pul province has allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself, an official said on Tuesday.
The inmate, a former policeman Abdul Ghafoor, had been sentenced to one and a half years imprisonment a month ago over negligence in duty at a military base, said Zabihullah Amani, the governor’s spokesman.
He told Pajhwok Afghan News the former policeman was resident of Baghawi village of Sar-i-Pul city. Ghafoor hanged himself in the wee hours of Tuesday. An investigation into the incident . . .
