KABUL (Pajhwok): Local officials on Thursday said a doctor who was kidnapped in eastern Nangarhar province has been released and reunited with his family.
Governor’s spokesman, Ataullah Khogyani, told Pajhwok Afghan News that a doctor, Najibullah, was kidnapped from Merano locality of Bati Kot district two weeks ago.
Dr. Najibullah was rescued as result Afghan forces efforts on Wednesday night and reunited with his family, he said.
No arrest has been made as yet, but investigations were underway to capture them, he added.
On the other hand, son of a businessman was kidnapped from Jalalabad, the capital of Nangarhar, two days ago. There is no information available who were behind the abduction.
Kidnapping cases have recently increased in Jalalabad city, but police claimed reducing the abduction incidents and improving the law and order situation across the province.
