JALALABAD/MAZAR-I-SHARIF (Pajhwok): Violence and threats against journalists have increased in some provinces, the Afghanistan Journalist Safety Committee (AJSC) said on Thursday.

AJSC officials on Thursday addressed separate press conferences in the capital of eastern Nangarhar province, Jalalabad, and the capital of northern Balkh province, Mazar-i-Sharif.

Speaking on behalf of Nangarhar journalists, Bakhtar news agency official Gulistan Ghalib said reporters in Nangarhar faced numerous problems and challenges. He said journalists were being threatened by militants, government forces and local powerful figures.
