PUL-I-ALAM (Pajhwok): Taliban militants have beheaded a 19-year-old boy and chopped off his hands in the capital of central Logar province, an official said on Sunday, but the rebels rejected having hand in the incident.
The governor’s spokesman, Salim Saleh, told Pajhwok Afghan News the militants captured Salman last night in Padkhab Shana area and cut off his dead and both hands.
“Salman had gone somewhere last night, when he was returning home, Taliban gunmen captured him, beheaded him, cut off his hands and took the body parts with them.”
Saleh said no one had been arrested in connection with the murder, but police were investigating the incident.
Zargai, a resident of the Padkhab Shana village, said the victim’s full name was Salman Jan Mohammad and he was 19-year-old.
“Jan Mohammad was a nice person, he was married four years ago,” he said, adding the victim had a shop in Khoshi district, but shifted his business to village two months ago.
He said the remains of Jan Mohammad were buried on Sunday and his brutal murder had terrified local residents.
But Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said Salman had not been killed by the fighters and they condemned the incident.
He said they had launched their own investigation into the murder in order to find the killers and punish them for their crime.
The Padkhab Shana area is two kilometers away from the governor’s house.
