KABUL (Pajhwok): Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Abdullah Abdullah on Tuesday directed security officials to defeat insurgents before the arrival of spring in southern Helmand province.
A statement from his office said Abdullah on Tuesday visited Helmand province in compliance with a presidential order for assessing the security situation in the province.
On his arrival in Lashkargah, the provincial capital, the CEO laid a floral wreath at the memorial of martyred Helmand security personnel.
