BAMYAN (Pajhwok): Twenty-three people were injured when a gas cylinder exploded at a hotel in central Bamyan province, an official said on Thursday.
Abdul Rahman Ahmadi, Bamyan governor’s spokesman, confirmed the incident to Pajhwok Afghan News, saying no one was killed in the incident that took place at around 11am on Wednesday night in Bamyan city, the provincial capital.
According to him, the wounded were rushed to hospital; some of them were also discharged after treatment. The blast was caused by a gas-cylinder at a hotel, he said.
Gulistan, the leaseholder of the Nawi Sakhi Hotel, said the hotel’s roof was completely damaged by the 5-kilogram gas cylinder explosion. A fire erupted after the explosion inflicting many financial losses.
He said two of the wounded were in critical condition.
