PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): Pakistan has deported nearly 60 Afghan nationals who had been detained while trying to cross the border without legal travel documents, an official said on Wednesday.
The 59 Afghans had been arrested as they attempted to steal into Pakistan through unfrequented routes over the past four days. They were handed over to Afghan authorities on Tuesday.
A political administration official at Torkham, requesting not to be named, told Pajhwok Afghan News Pakistani citizens would not be allowed either to travel to Afghanistan without travel documents.
He indicated travel on the Rahdari Card would either be checked or stopped completely to curb the wrong use of the document. The harsh measure has been prompted by what Pakistan calls strict border management.
