BAMYAN CITY (Pajhwok): A ‘precious metal detector’ has been seized by Afghan intelligence forces in central Bamyan province, an official said Sunday.
The machine, used for finding metals such as gold, silver, copper and others hidden deep underground, was seized in Sighan district of the province.
The governor’s spokesman, Abdul Rahman Ahmadi, told Pajhwok Afghan News the vr300 model detector had the ability to find precious objects underground.
The security forces also seized two walkie-talkies, two receivers, a GPS device and some other equipment and arrested individuals running the machine. They were currently under investigation, Ahmadi added.
Few months back, a device that could identify ancient objects was also seized from two individuals in Bamyan. The device was made in Iran.
