MAZAR-I-SHARIF (Pajhwok): Special security measures have been put in place for celebrating the upcoming new solar year and the traditional flag-hoisting ceremony in northern Balkh province, local officials said on Thursday.
Every year, the Janda-i-Bala (flag-hoisting) ceremony, marking Nawroz, is being held in Mazar-i-Sharif, the capital of the province. The event is attended by thousands of citizens and government officials from across the country.
