Envoy insists on teaching Chinese in Afghan schools

KABUL’s schools.

The envoy, Ambassador Yao Jing during a meeting with the principal and teachers of Marifat private school at the Chinese Embassy, said his country was interested in introducing Chinese language in educational institutes in Afghanistan.

 “The Chinese embassy in Kabul is cooperating with Marifat private school in teaching Chinese language to students”.

He said Chinese teachers taught the Chinese language in Marifat private school and this year six students were sent to China for higher studies in Chinese language.

The ambassador said cultural exchanges between the two countries were important and his country would support such efforts.

Without giving details, he said China’s corporation with Afghanistan in various fields would continue.

Azizullah Rawish, the principal of Marifat private school, said besides English, Chinese language was also taught to students since 2010. He said the Chinese Embassy assisted their school with teaching materials.
