Taliban commander killed in Laghman clash

KABUL commander was killed during a clash with security forces in the Alishang district of eastern Laghman province on Sunday.

A statement from the provincial Media and Public Relations office said the clash broke out in the afternoon in Kotali area of the district.

It said a notorious Taliban commander Abdul Wali was killed in the clash. The statement claimed Abdul Wali was involved in a number of security incidents in the district. His dead body remained on the clash site.

The Taliban have not yet commented about their commander’s killing in Laghman.
