JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Three US soldiers suffered injuries in a bomb blast claimed by Daesh also known as Islamic State (IS) in eastern Nangarhar province, a statement said on Tuesday.
A statement from the US forces in Afghanistan said the US personnel were struck by a bomb in the Jalalabad city, the provincial capital. However, it didn’t provide further details of the explosion.
The Nangarhar governor and police headquarters’ spokesmen said they had no information about the incident.
However, a security source, told Pajhwok Afghan News the bombing had occurred on Monday evening between Najmuddin Akhundzada locality of Jalalabad and rain-fed areas of Chaprahar district.
The source said the US forces were busy patrolling the area when a roadside Improvised Explosive Device (IED) placed under a culvert blew up.
Daesh militant group has claimed responsibility for the blast.
