The Senate chairman told today’s session: “Russia is overtly interfering in Afghanistan’s affairs, our strategic friends such as the US and NATO should not remain silent on this,” asked the western military alliance clear their position on Russian meddling.
Muslimyar also asked the Afghan government to resolve the issue through diplomatic channels, saying Russia and a number of other neighboring countries supported Taliban militants to achieve their own interests.
He also asked Taliban leaders not to become Russia’s and other countries’ pawns and achieve their goals by joining the peace and democratic process.
Senator Mohammad Hassan Hotak said the conflict in Afghanistan would not end if the Afghan government failed in preventing Russia from interfering in the country’s affairs.
