MAIMANA (Pajhwok): Gunmen shot dead petroleum products director for northwestern Faryab province in his office on Thursday, officials said.
Two gunmen entered director Naqibullah’s office located in the first district of Maimana City, the provincial capital, in the afternoon and killed him, Gen. Nader, Faryab crime branch police chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
He said the attackers had come on a motorcycle. The motive behind the murder was not immediately known, but police were investigating, he said.
A security official, who declined to be named,” Director Naqibullah was in his office with four other colleagues when two masked gunmen on a bike entered his office and started shooting him.”
No group has asserted the responsibility of for the incident.
