MEHTARLAM (Pajhwok): Five children were killed and two others wounded when a mortar shell fired by the Taliban landed on a house on the outskirts of Mehterlam, the provincial capital, on Sunday, an official said.
Sarhadi Zwak, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News the incident took place in Omarzai locality this afternoon.
The injured had been evacuated to hospital and were said to be in stable condition.
Governor Abdul Jabbar Naeemi denounced the incident and ordered the arrest and punishment of individuals involved . . .
