JALALABAD (Pajhowk): Seven Daesh or Islamic State (IS) rebels have been killed and 12 others wounded during the ongoing air and ground operation in eastern Nagarhar province, an official said on Sunday.
Police spokesman, Lt. Col. Hazrat Hussain Mashraqiwal, told Pajhwok Afghan News Security forces conducted air and ground operation codenamed Selab-3 in Chaparhar district.
He said seven militants were killed and 12 others wounded during the raid in Latagpoor and Kandibagh areas. Some weapons and ammunition belonged to militants destroyed in the offensive.
Security personnel and civilians suffered no casualties, said Mashraqiwal.
Earlier, a report from US forces said 750 Daesh militants were killed in the past two and a half months in Afghanistan.
There was no comment from Daesh rebels so far.
