KABUL, Moscow and Kabul have agreed on ending the propaganda war against each other.
Qader Shah, spokesman for the the National Security Council (NSC), told Pajhwok Afghan News that National Security Advisor (NSA) Mohammad Hanif Atmar met his Russian counterpart during his visit to Moscow.
He said both sides discussed the political and security situation in Afghanistan and the region. They agreed on the need for concerted efforts to promote peace and stability in the region and signed an agreement in this regard.
Shah said Russian National Security Advisor Nikolai Patrushev appreciated the Afghan government’s efforts for peace. He also renewed his country’s support for an Afghan-led peace process.
He added Patrushev and his Afghan counterpart stressed the role of the US, Iran, India and China in boosting stability in the region and fighting against terrorism.
Atmar called for enhanced cooperation between Russia and Afghanistan in fighting against terrorism and called Moscow’s role important.
Both sides discussed consequences of propaganda campaigns between the two countries and agreed to carefully study the nature of issues and prevent spreading disinformation against each other.
