GARDEZ (Pajhwok): Seven militants and one policeman were killed during a clash in southeastern Paktia province, police said on Monday.
Deputy police chief Col. Nisar Ahmad Abdulrahimzai told Pajhwok Afghan News that Taliban militants ambushed a security forces convoy in Shekhan area of the capital, Gardez, late on Sunday night.
One policeman was killed and another was wounded after coming under attack, but the security forces returned fire killing seven attackers and wounding eight more.
