No need to be pessimistic, Ghani tells Afghans

KABUL (Pajhwok): President Ashraf Ghani, praising the performance of the Afghan security forces, has urged the Afghans not to be pessimistic keeping in view the available resources and ask them to turn the conflict into an opportunity.

In a video conference meeting with governors, police chief, military commanders, attorneys, religious scholars, elders, public representatives and university chancellors, the president congratulated all on the occasion of Eidul Fitr, a statement from the Presidential Palace said on Monday.

In his address to security organs, the president asked them to come up with a strategy regarding logistics-related problems in order urgent steps could be taken for their solution.

Ghani said positive changes had come to the law enforcement in the country and further positives developments were expected in the next five years.

The president said solutions to problems in the justice and judicial sector in districts would be found in order people could easily access the sector.

Calling ulema for religious harmony.

“Our basic aim is establish peace and stability and in this regard develop a political and social consensus to reach a positive end, which our people desire.”

The president asked political parties to play their role in promoting health political competitions.

“Our water, natural resources, geographical location and our people are Afghanistan’s huge assets so we should never be pessimistic and should turn the situation into an opportunity.”
