MAIMANA (Pajhwok): Seven people, including three civilians and one security official, were killed after militants ambushed a military convoy in northern Faryab province on Saturday.
Faryab police spokesman Abdul Karim Yourish told Pajhwok Afghan News the convoy of the Afghan National Army 209th Shaheen Military Corps was heading to Maimana city, Faryab’s capital, from neighboring Jawzjan province when came under attack in Sherin Tagab district.
The ensuing clash lasted eight hours, leaving two ANA soldiers, two Taliban fighters and a widowed woman and her two children . . .
