MAIMANA (Pajhwok): A vehicle was burnt to ashes on Wednesday when a convoy of security forces came under Taliban attack in the Khawaja Sabz Posh district of northwestern Faryab province, an official said.
Police spokesman Abdul Karim Yoresh told Pajhwok Afghan News the incident took place at around 9:00am in Qala locality.
Abdullah Masoomi, the district chief, said civilians and security forces suffered no casualties in the attack. He claimed two Taliban fighters were killed and three others wounded retaliatory fire from the security personnel.
Taliban commander Mullah Mohammad Amin claimed three security officials in the vehicle were burnt to death. Passengers traveling on the highway said the road was blocked for traffic for nearly two hours due to the clash.
