SHIBERGHAN (Pajhwok): Daesh rebels, also known Islamic State (IS), have shot dead a tribal elder in the Qush Tapa district of northwestern Jawzjan province, an official said on Tuesday.
District Chief Aminullah said tribal elder Gul Agha was gunned down on Monday night in the Chaqma Chaqor village of the district over waging propaganda campaign against the IS.
He said Gul Agah led an awareness campaign to get the people know what really the IS agenda was and that made the insurgents angry, resulting in his killing.
Abdul Sammad, the resident of locality, said the situation was dangerous as nobody could talk about Daesh and the Taliban. Few words against the militants could be at the expense of life.
The body of Gul Agha had been handed over to tribal people. Daesh militants have so far not spoken about the killing of the tribal elder.
