Musharraf: Some groups earned money in Afghan war

KABUL military earned money from the Afghan war, but acknowledged some groups did so.

In an exclusive interview with BBC Urdu, Musharraf claimed that the Pakistani army had not earned any money from the Afghan conflict in the16 years, but some people and individuals earned money through US arms sales.

In 2015, Musharraf for the first time acknowledged that the Pakistan intelligence agency (ISI against the government of former president Hamid Karzai.

Musharraf criticized some actions of former president Ziaul Haq, but supported his decision to support from the Afghan war and the Afghan Mujahidin.

Musharraf, who rule Pakistan after ousting then prime minister Nawaz Sharif in a bloodless military coup in 1999, also said all Asian countries witnessed progress due to dictators.

He said in Pakistan whenever a marshal law was imposed, it was the need of the hour.
