PUL-I-ALAM (Pajhwok): Six militants have been killed and three civilians injured in a clearing operation in Pul-i-Alam, the capital of central Logar province, an official said on Friday.
Governor spokesman Mir Ahmad Selab told Pajhwok Afghan News security forces had launched clearing operation in the Alwazir, Doghabad and Jummah Kala areas and established check-posts.
But a government official who wished to go unnamed said five civilians had been injured in security forces raid.
The resident of locality, however, claimed five civilians, including four children, had been killed in security forces raid.
Zabihullah, the resident of Alwazir locality, said a mortar shell fired by security forces hit the house of Samar Gul, a local elder, that killed Gul and his four children.
Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said a man and four children were killed by a mortar shell fired by security forces.
