FAIZABAD (Pajhwok): The Taliban have lashed a young man on rape charges in the Raghistan district of northeastern Badakhshan province, local officials said on Monday.
Maulvi Ghulamullah Syed, the district’s administrative chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News the accused with disability, named Tayyeb, had illicit relations with a girl from Diga village.
“The girl got pregnant and both have confessed to their crime,” he said, adding the pair was unmarried. The man was awarded 100 lashes by the Taliban . . .
