WASHINGTON (Pajhwok): US President Donald Trump would address the nation on his long-awaited policy on Afghanistan and the wider South Asian region on Monday (today), the White House has said.
“President Trump will address our nation’s troops and the American people tomorrow night at 9:00 pm (EDT) from Fort Myer in Arlington, to provide an update on the path forward for America’s engagement in Afghanistan and South Asia,” the White House press secretary Sarah Sanders said in a statement.
On Friday, Trump had a meeting with his national security officials at the Camp David retreat. A day later, the president tweeted that he had taken a decision on his Afghan policy.
