JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Three Daesh (Islamic State) and two Taliban fighters have been killed during a clash in eastern Nangarhr province, an official said on Saturday.
Attullah Khogyani, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News the gunbattle erupted between the insurgent groups in the Ghulam Dag area of Chaparhar district late on Friday night.
He said three Daesh and two Taliban fighters were killed during the firefight. Civilians suffered no casualties, the gubernatorial spokesman added.
Separately, a Taliban fighter surrendered to the government with a pistol, one Kalashnikov assault rifle and three hand grenades in the Dur Baba district of the province.
