KABUL (Pajhwok): Five Afghan national cricket team players to take part in the upcoming Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), media reports said on Saturday.
Earlier, Shapor Zadran and Mohammad Nabi Esakhel appeared in the BPL last year games.
The players drafting process was held in Bangladesh capital Dhaka today in which five Afghan players also become part of the upcoming season of PBL.
Rangpur Riders bought two Afghan spinners Samiullah Shinwari and Zahir Khan, Comilla Victorians picked Rashid Khan and Mohammad Nabi while Chittagong Vikings grabbed Najibullah Zadran for this season.
Nazem Jar Abdul Rahimzai, the founder of Afghan domestic cricket and expert, said the presence of five Afghan players in the upcoming BPL was a huge achievement for the Afghan cricket.
He said great players of the limited over games would be playing in the BPL and it was a huge chance for the Afghan players to learn from their experiences.
He was unhappy over the inclusion of Nabi and Rashid Khan in the same team because according to him one of them would not get more chances to play as they were part of the same team in Indian Primer League (IPL)
