TALOQAN (Pajhwok): Four police officers have been arrested on the charge of stealing weapons from the Kafgan district police station in northeastern Takhar province, an official said on Saturday.
Police spokesman Maj. Abdul Khalil Aseer told Pajhwok Afghan News that three Kalashnikovs, one rocket and a machine gun were stolen from the district police depot on Friday night.
He admitted the commander of the depot and three other policemen guarding the ammunition depot had been arrested in connection with the incident.
District police chief Abdul Sattar said ammunitions were also stolen besides weapons from the depot. However, he did not provide details. Provincial police headquarters has sent a delegation to the site to investigate the incident.
