12 weapons recovered from repatriates’ truck

JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Border police recovered 12 weapons from a truck bringing refugee families from Pakistan in Torkham border town in eastern Nangarhar province, an official said on Saturday.

Nangarhar governor’s spokesman, Attuallah Khogyani, told Pajhwok Afghan News that 11 pistols and one Kalashnikov and 22 magazines were recovered from the truck during a search by the Torkham Commissary personnel associated with the 1st Border Police Brigade.

He said two individuals were arrested in connection with the weapons named repatriate Zaryalai and driver Mashooq.

Elsewhere, 6th Border Police Battalion soldiers detained a Daesh affiliate, named Zarjan, near the Durand Line in Nangarhar province.

Khogyani said the detainee wanted to convey information to his outfit about security forces’ border security check posts.

According to him, the detained Daesh affiliate was previously member of Taliban insurgents and recently joined Daesh.
