GHAZNI CITY (Pajhwok): At least 10 insurgents were killed and six others injured in an airstrike in Andar district of southern Ghazni province on Wednesday, officials said.
Ghazni governor’s spokesman, Mohammad Arif Noori, told Pajhwok Afghan News foreign forces conducted the air raid in Saheb Khan area this noon, targeting a Taliban meeting. He said 10 insurgents were eliminated and another six wounded in the blitz.
Meanwhile, Saheb Khan residents confirmed the airstrike. A resident of the locality, Mohammad Khan, said Taliban militants were targeted from the air soon after coming to their area. He said two civilians also suffered injuries in the attack.
The Taliban also confirmed the airstrike. The group’s spokesman, Zabihullah Mujahid, claimed those suffering casualties in the strike were only civilians.
The Taliban were targeted in airstrikes for a second time since last week in Andar district, sustaining heavy casualties.
