FARAH CITY (Pajhwok): Three Taliban insurgent, including notorious commander, have been killed during a clash in the Pushtrod district of western Farah province, an official said on Sunday.
Police spokesman Iqbal Bahir told Pajhwok Afghan News that the militants stormed security check-post in Tapa-i-Shiran area of the district at 9pm on Saturday night.
He said the clash continued for one hour; Mulah Zahir a local Taliban commander and two others were killed, four wounded. He added only one policeman slightly wounded.
A resident of the area who did not want to be named, said he was unaware about the casualties, but confirmed that the gun battle lasted for one hour. There was no word about the clash in Farah from the Taliban.
