SHARANA (Pajhwok): Seven Taliban insurgents have been killed and as many wounded during clashes with security forces in southeastern Paktika province, an official said on Saturday.
Brig. Gen. Raham Del, 203rd Thunder Military Corps commander, told Pajhwok Afghan News the militants attacked an Afghan National Army (ANA) convoy in Soraki area of Mata Khan district.
Three attackers were killed and several were others wounded, but the security escaped unhurt, he said.
Police spokesman Shah Mohammad Aryan said four insurgents were killed and as many wounded when Taliban attacked security check-posts in Piar Kotai area of Argon district on Friday night.
Nek Mohammad, a resident of the area, said “Clashes often take place between Taliban and security forces.”
The Taliban have so far said nothing in this regard.
