KANDAHAR CITY (Pajhwok): Five passengers were killed and 37 others wounded in an accident in southern Kandahar province on Monday, an official said.
Qudratullah Khoshbakht, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News the accident took place when a 303-bus overturned in Panjwai district on the Kandahar-Herat highway at around 6am.
He linked the accident to the driver’s negligence, saying five people were killed and 37 others wounded. The wounded were evacuated to the Mirwais Hospital in Kandahar City.
A hospital official, meanwhile, said 22 of the injured were discharged after being administered first medical aid. The remaining 15 are under medical treatment and they are said to be in stable condition.
