Tehran denounces civilian killings in Kabul assault

KABUL (Pajhwok): Iran has condemned a deadly suicide attack in Kabul, killing at least 19 people and wounding many others.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qassemi, according to Tasnim news agency, denounced the attack claimed by Daesh (Islamic State).

Qassemi slammed the killing of innocent people and offered his condolences to the Afghan nation, as well as the bereaved families.

About 700 supporters of the governor of northern Balkh province, attending a conference in the capital, were the apparent target.
