PUL-I-ALAM (Pajhwok): Three children were among nearly a dozen civilians who sustained injuries in a suicide bombing in the capital of central Logar province on Tuesday, an official said.
The blast took place in Pul-i-Alam, apparently targeting provincial deputy police chief Mohammad Ayub Wardak, who escaped unhurt, said the governor’s spokesman.
Salim Saleh confirmed it was a suicide attack that took place about 10:30am, injuring 11 civilians.
A doctor at the provincial civil hospital, Samiullah, told Pajhwok Afghan News that they had been delivered 11 injured people, including three children.
He said the condition of three people was critical and they were transferred to Kabul for treatment.
Abid, an eyewitness, said it was a powerful blast that rocked the Baraki-i-Barak bus stand. He said many people might have been killed and wounded but he had no information.
No group has so far claimed responsibility for the suicide attack.
