TALOQAN (Pajhwok): An Afghan Local Police (ALP) member was killed inside a hospital after he had allegedly killed his wife and mother-in-law in northeastern Takhar province, an official said Saturday.
Provincial police spokesman, Maj. Abdul Khalil Aseer, told Pajhwok Afghan News the slain ALP member had gunned down his wife and mother-in-law in Mogholan area of Khwaja Bahauddin district late on Friday.
He said the killer was fleeing when police shot him injured. He was then shifted to hospital in the district center.
But an uncle of the slain girl, also an ALP member, entered the hospital and shot dead the murderer on hospital bed.
Nizamuddin, a resident of Khwaja Bahauddin district, said both the women were first injured but they died in hospital.
The uncle of the slain woman was permitted by hospital officials to enter the health facility with his weapon, he said.
But provincial police spokesman said the uncle had also been detained and was under investigation.
