MAZAR-I-SHARIF (Pajhwok): Twenty-five couples on Sunday tied the knot at a mass marriage event in the capital of northern Balkh province. The bridegrooms included a soldier.
Arranged by the Provincial Information and Culture department, the mass marriage ceremony was held at a hotel in Mazar-i-Sharif. Twenty relatives of each the couple were invited to attend the ceremony.
Youth affairs official at the culture and information department, Azimul Haq, told Pajhwok Afghan News the couples were registered for the free marriage with the help of adverts.
